Simplified Inclusion Training

$150.00

For the individual whose company won’t invest in disability DEI.

I’ve made this robust 4 part training for individuals and companies who really value disabled people and see the massive oversight in DEI trainings. You want to include disabled people, but you feel lost with the HOW.

How do you refer to disabled people? What if someone prefers different terminology? How do you build inclusive storylines, content and sets? How do address ableism and ableist comments from co workers? How do you avoid tokenism? How can you be proactive about creating content that isn’t just inclusive but actually grows your damn business so that you can continue prioritizing this community forever?

I’ve got you. Our four part programming addresses the following topics and together, we have a monthly zoom call you can join to pick my brain on ALL things disability inclusion, DEI and content.

What is Ableism?

This is an overview of what “disability” means and the various types of oppression disabled people face. We will also explore the basics of disability history dating back to ancient eras.

Implicit Bias + Systemic Ableism

Dig deeper into the two main types of ableism: systemic ableism and implicit bias - and how these two types of discrimination function in our legal, medical, school systems.

Tropes + Stigmas:

You will learn about the harmful tropes and stigmas non disabled people perpetuate about the disabled communities, as well as how these continue to advance negative implicit bias towards disabled people. You’ll leave with the ability to identify tropes in media and best practices in sharing stories of disabled people.

How to Be An Ally

Develop new strategies for allyship as you hear about the intersectional experiences of different disabled people and through an intersectional lens. Learn about what allyship means to them, and steps you can take in your personal, professional, and community life to make the world a more equitable place for disabled people.
