90% of companies have a plan for DEI but only 4% include disability in them

Together, we can change this.

  • 90% of companies have a DEIB plan but only 4% of them include disabled people and disability within that plan. This is unacceptable. Disabled people make up 25% of the population - the largest minority group in the world. And including disabled people in business isn’t only a benefit to people with disabilities…it’s a huge benefit to the companies too.

  • The experiences of disabled people matter - and it's time to see that reflected in the workplace.

Statistically speaking, issues that the disabled community face have not gotten better since the ADA. Why? Because of the lack of enforcement and the ableist implicit bias that lives in all of us. And, based on the 2020 census, the vital issues facing disabled people are actually getting worse:

  • I’m on a mission to educate 1 million people on disability rights, ableism, and how to be a better ally - and I’m over half of my way there.

I’m zoning in on workplace activism because as much as I would like to, I can’t force people to sit down and learn about systemic ableism and implicit bias. But you know who can? HR directors. Managers, CEOs. Small business owners. You.

This doesn’t just affect disabled people - it also affects your bottom line. Companies that employ more disabled people have double the net income, 28% higher revenue, and 30% higher economic profit margins. It’s a win for our community, it’s a win for your business.

The world has ignored the basic human and civil rights of disabled people for far too long. Together, we’re changing that.

    1. Four on demand training sessions delivered by me and expertly crafted and curated by my team of DEI Consultants and Educators, Disability Advocates and Adult Educators with an intersectional lens.

    2. A resource guide to help you make a tactical plan for expanding your disability DEIB initiatives in a way that centers the disabled experience and grows your bottom line.

The following topics will be what we go over throughout the program.

    What is Ableism?

This is an overview of what “disability” means and the various types of oppression disabled people face. We will also explore the basics of disability history dating back to ancient eras.

    Implicit Bias + Systemic Ableism

Dig deeper into the two main types of ableism: systemic ableism and implicit bias - and how these two types of discrimination function in our legal, medical, school systems.

    Tropes + Stigmas:

You will learn about the harmful tropes and stigmas non disabled people perpetuate about the disabled communities, as well as how these continue to advance negative implicit bias towards disabled people. You’ll leave with the ability to identify tropes in media and best practices in sharing stories of disabled people.

    How to Be An Ally

Develop new strategies for allyship as you hear about the intersectional experiences of different disabled people and through an intersectional lens. Learn about what allyship means to them, and steps you can take in your personal, professional, and community life to make the world a more equitable place for disabled people.
