Sugar Free Holy Grail Products

Sugar free September sounds hard until you start it… then you realize it’s REALLY hard. When I did my first #SFS I was doing relief work in South Africa and was broke, but I had a lot of time on my hands to make things from scratch. Now I’m a bit more of a stable human being (in every way of life) and my grocery budget is more than $30 a week so I have the ability to purchase some items that make this challenge tolerable. These are my top items to purchase to help curb cravings and make your life easier during a sugar detox challenge.

Primal Kitchen Dressings

All of Primal Kitchen’s dressings are Paleo so they are always refined sugar free and only made with natural ingredients. Our favorites are their ceasar, ranch and buffalo sauce - bonus! the buffalo sauce is amazing on chicken if left in an instant pot or crock pot and paired with sweet potatoes. YUM.

Perfect Bar

Perfect Bars are my all time FAVORITE protein bars. They are high in calories, healthy fats, have superfoods hidden into them and taste like a COOKIE. They are sweetened with honey so they’re not entirely vegan friendly, but they are a great alternative for everyone else. Stick to the bars with almond butter to really keep inflammation low - unfortunately peanut butter is inflammatory, too. But for those moments when you just NEED a peanut butter cookie treat, perfect bars are an AWESOME alternative.

Malk Creamer

Just can’t seem to kick that creamer in your morning cup? This is a common issue for many! Try swapping out your dairy and sugar loaded creamer for Malk creamer made from macadamia nuts + maple syrup. No icky ingredients here!

Plant Fusion Protein Powder

Up your protein intake to help stabilize blood sugar levels and reduce cravings. Protein requires more work for the body to digest and therefore leaves us feeling fuller for longer. Protein also slows the absorption of sugar during a meal. I recommend eating a quality protein source with every meal and snack throughout the day to help curb hunger and to moderate sugar cravings.

Opt for vegan protein sources like pea protein to keep inflammation at bay.

Lara Bars

Lara Bars are hit or miss for me and I really only LOVE the cashew cookie flavor. Remember all sugar is still sugar, so don’t overdo it on these, but when you choose a natural sugar choice and pair it with nuts it helps your body avoid spikes and crashes while still scratching the sugar itch.
